IDOC Release Paths for Lemhi
A felony commitment from Lemhi County places the person under state correctional authority. It does not guarantee assignment to the nearest institution. IDOC may choose an institution or contracted placement based on classification and operational needs. Eastern Idaho locations exist, but no official source says a Lemhi case automatically goes to St. Anthony Work Camp, the Idaho Falls Community Reentry Center, or any other named site.
An IDOC prison exit may be release to parole, another community-supervision status, a court-directed change, narrow medical parole, sentence completion, or transfer. A move to a community reentry center can remain an IDOC placement. It should not be called unrestricted community release. Final discharge means state sentence jurisdiction ended, while parole means the person lives in the community under conditions.

Search an IDOC Lemhi Release
Idaho calls the official tool the Resident/Client Search. It is not a county released-inmate list. The form accepts Last Name, First Name, and IDOC Number. Last name or IDOC number is required. IDOC allows a partial query with at least two letters of the last name or three digits of the IDOC number, though a known full number is the safest match.
- Read the IDOC currency warning before searching; the department says data updates daily but can change fast.
- Enter the IDOC number when known. Otherwise search last name and add first name to narrow the list.
- Compare IDOC number, birth year, sentencing county, and case number. Never merge records by name alone.
- Open the detail and record overall status, physical location, supervising district, current-as-of time, sentence status, Released to Supervision, and Sentence Satisfaction Date.
- If a discharged summary omits conviction facts, use iCourt for the durable case disposition and request IDOC records for formal proof.
IDOC Lemhi Search Fields
The public detail is broader than a prison locator. IDOC includes people incarcerated under its authority, people on probation or parole, and some people who satisfied their sentence. Results can display IDOC number, name, birth year, and status. Active details can add physical location, a correctional image, supervising district, assigned officer, offense, Lemhi County as sentencing county, case number, sentence status, Released to Supervision, and Sentence Satisfaction Date.

A discharged summary may retain the person’s name but suppress conviction information. That is an intentional limit, not proof the conviction never existed. The matching iCourt case and official records request fill different parts of the history.
IDOC Records and Contact
Public search data is basic information. For a release, discharge, status history, sentence calculation, or identification image that is not clear online, submit a request through the IDOC Request for Information portal. Ask for the exact record and date range. IDOC Sentencing Records reviews judgments, applies jail and retained-jurisdiction credit, processes parole forfeiture, and coordinates with courts, jails, institutions, supervision offices, and the Parole Commission.

Request the release or discharge record, sentence calculation, and status history if one day or label matters. IDOC cannot give legal advice or alter a judgment through a records request. A court order, corrected credit, warrant, parole forfeiture, new case, or data timing can change what the public record shows.
IDOC Parole Is Not Discharge
The Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole decides parole release and revocation matters. Its Notices of Action Taken may show a grant and tentative parole date. That notice proves Commission action, not actual exit. Required programming, an approved residence and transportation plan, a parole contract, and IDOC approval may still be needed. The Commission warns that no person releases before the tentative date.
After actual prison exit, the IDOC result may change to “In community” and show District 7 for a Lemhi County client. Supervision continues until discharge. The Commission FAQ describes a final-discharge document known as a Gold Seal, routed through the last supervision district. Delivery can take up to a month. The paper delay does not turn a supervised release into a discharge or vice versa.

Lemhi County and IDOC Records
IDOC does not prove every Lemhi County Jail release. A person who posted bond or served a county misdemeanor term without state supervision may never appear. Start with the Lemhi Sheriff when the custody was local. Switch to IDOC only after a felony commitment, retained-jurisdiction placement, parole, or state probation is identified.
The court docket remains vital. It can show the judgment, fixed and indeterminate terms, commitment, later sentence action, and satisfaction. IDOC applies the judgment and credits, while the Commission decides discretionary parole. The Lemhi County release-record workflow shows how to pair these sources with the actual jail disposition.
No IDOC prison is physically in Lemhi County. The listed “facility” is therefore the state system and its contracted placements, not a local public building where all Lemhi cases are held. Follow the individual record rather than geography.
Placement names should also be read with care. An Idaho community reentry center can remain an IDOC placement even though the setting differs from a prison. A person at such a location has not necessarily received an unrestricted community release. The detail record, supervising district, sentence lines, and any Commission action show which authority remains in force. If the location changes before the status field updates, preserve both values and the data-current time, then ask IDOC Records to reconcile the snapshot.
For a Lemhi County sentence, the sentencing county and case number provide the link back to the judgment. Those fields help separate people with similar names and connect the correction calculation to the right court file. IDOC’s record supplies the state placement and sentence administration; the Lemhi court record supplies the controlling judgment and later court orders. Neither source should be stretched beyond the event it records.
