District 7 Lemhi Release Status
Lemhi County is assigned to IDOC Probation and Parole District 7. Its main office is in Idaho Falls. The official district page also names Rexburg and Blackfoot satellite offices, but it does not list an IDOC satellite in Salmon. A released person may therefore live in Lemhi County while supervision is routed through an office outside the county.
District 7 supervises state probationers and parolees. Probation comes from a court order and may follow a suspended prison term or other sentence. Parole follows prison confinement and requires action by the Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole. Both can place a person in the community under conditions. Neither means the sentence is fully discharged.

A name search can produce several matches, so compare birth year, sentencing county, case number, and IDOC number before opening a detail. The public record may display “In community,” District 7, an officer and phone, a physical location, sentence status, Released to Supervision, and Sentence Satisfaction Date.

Lemhi County Supervision Split
Lemhi County also operates a local Probation and Pretrial office at 205 Courthouse Drive in Salmon. It names an adult and juvenile probation officer and a Pre-Trial Assistant. That county office is not IDOC District 7. The controlling order determines where to ask.
A county pretrial placement concerns release while a case is pending. County probation may concern a local court order. IDOC District 7 handles state felony probation and parole supervision. The distinction matters after a Lemhi County Jail release. A jail disposition may say probation without showing which unit owns the case. District 7 Status and Location
An IDOC client can be “In community” yet have a physical-location line that names Lemhi County Jail. This is not necessarily a database error. The person may still be under a state supervision order while being held on a new case or alleged violation. Legal status and bodily custody must be checked on their own.
If Lemhi Jail is named, call the Sheriff to confirm current custody. If District 7 is named, call that office for supervision routing. A court docket can show a new warrant, violation filing, or order. Idaho VINE may also report a custody event, but it remains a notification tool based on agency data, not the final release or discharge certificate.

District 7 Final Discharge
A Sentence Satisfaction Date is not always the date confinement ended, and it is not the same as the date final paperwork arrives. Parole can put someone in the community before sentence satisfaction. A warrant, forfeiture, corrected credit, amended order, or new case may change the expected endpoint.
The Parole Commission FAQ says a final-discharge Gold Seal is routed through the last supervision district and can take up to a month. Look for “Discharged” in IDOC, then request the official record if the date matters. The absence of paper at once does not by itself prove that supervision continued.
Commission hearing schedules and action notices answer still different questions. A hearing is not a release. A tentative date is not an actual exit. Confirm the later IDOC community status and, in the end, the discharge record. That chain is more reliable than converting a single planned date into a final fact.
Idaho also maintains a statewide IDOC Fugitive Recovery page rather than a Lemhi-only absconder roster. A featured entry may include an image, name, IDOC identifier, and tip route. Absence from that featured list does not prove that a client is reporting as directed or that no warrant exists. The Resident/Client Search and the responsible supervision office remain the appropriate channels for a specific status check.
A Commission warrant can affect both custody and sentence timing. Idaho Code § 20-1007 states that a parole warrant suspends parole and treats the parolee as a fugitive between issuance and arrest, subject to the Commission’s decision about whether that time counts. This is one reason a satisfaction date previously viewed online may later change. Use the precise warrant, IDOC, and Commission records instead of estimating the result.
Identity matching needs equal care. An IDOC number is stronger than a common name or birth year. Compare the sentencing county and case number before contacting District 7. When fields conflict, give staff the exact status, location, date, and data-current time displayed. That turns a broad release question into a defined record inquiry the correct office can route.
